Sometimes the addition is large and dramatic similar to the one above. This outside kitchen is only a portion of a multi-room addition including a 3 car garage, full sized bathroom, dumbwaiter lift to attic storage, and 3 large storage areas which together totals 3,200 Sf. Before we added the 30,000 gallon pool adjacent to the outside kitchen we first constructed a 118' concrete and steel retaining wall around the area to hold up the pool and concrete deck. The retaining walls range from 3-9' tall and there are a myriad of pipes, wires and cables under the pool deck to serve the pool, drainage, lighting and music. This project included a considerable amount of engineering and almost all of the spaces include accessibility. We added an elevator and remodeled the master bathroom in this home last year.

More often the addition is a simple expansion of the home to increase the living area. The above photo is the family room which was added and below is the before picture.

Frequently we've been asked to add a number of rooms and renovate, modify and remodel part of the existing home at the same time. The photos below show the 'before' and 'after' of a complex addition. In this project we created a mother-in-law suite incorporating Aging-in-Place senior modifications, built a garage, rebuilt the wall adjacent to it, removed a small galley kitchen, then built a large area where we created a new spacious kitchen and remodeled an existing bathroom, all at the same time.

Everyone who was aware of our project marvels at how the old and new parts of the two areas are blended together and look they had always existed as one.

Sometimes the additional space is all outside and its impact may be minimal compared with the overall transformation. In the project below, the additional space was the wrap around porch and carport but the transformation, both inside and out, was dramatic. We also replaced the siding, windows and shingles while raising the floor level of 25% of the first floor, added a fireplace and powder room plus other standard remodeling too detailed to elaborate in a short space.
