Bathroom Remodels
It’s hard to believe but bathrooms were invited inside the house less than 100 years ago.  From their humble beginnings, almost as closets for equipment, bathrooms have become many things.  First, bathrooms have become larger, with the basic equipment spread out so it’s not so crowded and supplemented with additional amenities the original bathroom could never have imagined.  Aside from the functional increase in size we find our view of the bathroom has changed to include viewing them an oasis from the stress of life, a place to relax and unwind.  Modern equipment can also make our bathrooms into therapeutic salons.

Above all the discussions of bathrooms, the foremost change in bathrooms, in the last 100 years, is to make them pretty.

The pictures on this page are the products of our work and our client’s sense of style and fashion.  And the next time you visit yours, be glad its not 100 years ago or, you’d probably be outside.

Several before and after bathroom remodeling projects.

The quality of work was excellent. Just as importantly, the job was completed in a timely manner and within the agreed upon price range

RENOVATION 1
BEFORE

This bathroom was part of the original home, which we built for the clients in 2003.  The entire home was designed by the Owner.  He joked he fired the designer and was now hiring others to do the design work.  He actually did a good job on most of the home, particulary for someone not in the business.

When we met years ago and reviewed the original plans, I suggested jetted tubs may look good, but take up a lot of space, and weren't typically used very often.

When we got together to discuss remodeling years later, Ms. Client decided she wanted a very elegant bathroom, without a tub.

The finished bathroom is a collaboration of our design work, a photo of a vanity she provided, selections of color and styles she made and a team of dedicated and very experienced craftsmen.  Most clients want a comfortable, functional bathroom with a pleasant appearance; this client wanted all that and a certain stunning elegance, which I think she achieved.

The fact that we could give you a key and leave town without worry allowed us to maintain our schedules.

RENOVATION 2
BEFORE

The bathroom would be tight for most people but for someone with MS, this master bathroom became almost impossible for her to use.  Confined to a scooter most of the time, you can imagine the challenge the tiny doors into the shower and toilet room imposed.  She told me she had fallen more than once every week in the shower.

Now she can roll into the bathroom and the shower with ease.  The vanity was built with a special lavatory, which has a drain which doesn't interfere with a chair under it, while using it.  We make so many modifications for style and ammenities in remodeling, making one work regardless of one's condition is no different.

"As someone who is now dealing with a disability, I realized I had to have an accessible bathroom. I was hard to know where to start, but I found when talking with Kip that his experience with Aging in Place and his gift of listening to what I needed convinced me he was the builder who would produce a bathroom that would fit my personal needs."

RENOVATION 3
Award Winner
Remodelers Showcase Awards, 2006 Bathroom Remodeling

BEFORE

This bathroom was created in an area which had been an adjacent bedroom.   It was part of a master suite remodel project where the existing bathroom was simply abandoned and the original master bedroom, the adjacent bedroom and the original bathroom were  combined into a spacious master suite with walk in closet, bedroom and master bath.

AFTER

The area was stripped back to the stud walls and we simply designed, then created the master suite.  1964 meets the 21st Century with the style our client envisioned.

2008 Bathroom Remodeling        Remodelers Showcase Awards

BEFORE

This bathroom was originally three areas, the sink area, the toilet and tub in an adjacent 5'X5' space and a separate closet which opened into the master bedroom.

AFTER

The small closet area was incorporated into the space for the shower and toilet, creating a spacious master bathing area.  The bathroom remodel was part of a whole house remodel project.  And just like this bathroom, everything this client selected is beautiful.
