Artist's Vision

It was a small, cramped, old, ugly and worn-out kitchen,  so it all had to go.  She’s an artist who envisioned what it could be, so we designed and created it, and she decorated it.

After we removed the appliances and the short 30” cabinets, we removed the east and south walls, to open this tiny kitchen up to the new design.  The walls we removed were on both sides of the two openings into the kitchen cave, which is what it looked like originally.

The design also showed re-framing of the ceilings to accommodate the new open plan, reconfigured A/C supply vents, new recessed and under cabinet lights, a vent for the hood, that actually was ducted out of the house, and not just into the attic as it had been.

We relocated the range several feet over, and although it’s hard to believe, the sink is still under the window, although it’s not the same window.
